Chapter 2: page 1
January 1974

Laura has become my home, and I am acclimating quickly to the slow-paced village life. After school, we gather shells, have picnics, and swim in the shallow waters of the lagoon as small sharks swim nearby! We practice our Marshallese with the kids along the way. Sundays are for church only and are wonderfully quiet. Without many of the conveniences of the Western world, life is simple and serene.
